Top 5 Reasons Those In Charge Don't Care About Us.

2. Minimum Wage

Hmmm... Where do i even start? How about the fact that minimum wage hasn't been raised since 1996. When inflation is running rampant food and gasoline prices are out of control and millions of American families are struggling to keep their homes, the simple little thing big gov't could to actually provide relief to those under the heavy burden of our declining economy seems to never even cross mind. Then again, what do you expect? Its hard for big gov't sitting on its per ch on high to hear the masses agonizing cry.

Top 5 Reasons Those In Charge Don't Care About Us

3. Sad Sad World News

Okay I am aware the television is all about ratings. Is it absolutely necessary for every channel's news program to subscribe to this worlds a horrible place theme? Does every high speed chase need to be televised. I mean I think I saw this episode last week and I know how it ends. I believe that televising images of missing people or suspects doesn't help to lead to their return or capture . Sometimes, though, the media makes local issues national issues, like 17 pregnant girls in Boston ot the whole Jenna 6 debacle. In effect, subjecting one area to national judgment, and everybody's varying opinions which rarely leads to an actual solution, just a lot of discussion. Things like the constant reporting of shark attacks, making them out to be man eating monsters. Ideas suggesting vaccines cause autism. How about telling us how much gas is going up every day as if we didn't see it on the news we wouldn't be able to contemplate what was happening. How about SARS, West Nile Virus, Bird Flu, or whatever the perverbial pathogen flavor of the month is? Must the racial slur of every semi-famous person become national news. Especially when it comes to radio personalities, if i don't listen to the radio station why would care what they hell they said to their audience, and even I did listen to said station if i heard some thing i didn't like I would ummm..... CHANGE THE STATION!!!! And this is only the tip of the iceberg but i am going to stop here.

Top 5 Reasons Those In Charge Don't Care About Us

4. Daytime construction

Is it an absolute necessary for the majority of street construction to take place during the morning rush hour? I mean there is obvious logic in doing construction at night when their is less traffic and I imagine it would be safer for the workers. In terms of visibility and the protection of workers at night they can set lights in a way that illuminate the construction site so that is impossible for coherent driver not to see. With road rage occurring at absurd rates you would think that the number one priority would be reducing the stress level of drivers. Unstressed drivers equals less road rage, better driving, and as a result less stressed workers and more efficient work being done for employers.

5. Unnecessary Traffic Jams

Have you ever felt like if they just adjusted the time that a green or red light lasted that it would completely expedite the flow of traffic? I am sure that the grid of traffic lights could be reformatted with a little effort increasing the speed at which commuting takes place.

Los Angeles Traffic

I have been to many states from Georgia, Louisiana, and Ohio to Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. I must say the Los Angeles is only place where as Adam Corolla so eloquently put it "people drive like they are just circulating oil through their engine block, they have an dentist appointment to get a root canal, or a water boarding appointment." People too often seem to have no destination in mind when they get behind the wheel of their car, almost as if they are taking in the scenery that unless they move here yesterday should have become a repetitive banality by now. Not to mention if people are checking out the scenery they should have their eyes on the road. I totally am bewildered by why people seem to like to wallow in the boredom of traffic. Even more confusing is the fact even if you want to drive in a manner that would make even the most carefully cautious driver have a fit of road rage, isn't at least feasible that you would take into to consideration the thousands of other drivers on the road and pull over and all of those who want to actually arrive at their destination pass.

When We Need It, Wheres The Electric Car?

I don't know if anyone has seen the documentary "Who killed the electric car?", but its a very enlightening, awakening, film. Even though it came out in about 2003 i bring it up now because, now more than ever the population at large is in need of the electric car. I think this hybrid car phenomenon is simply a pacifier to silence are crying for more efficient cars. What separates us from an Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, or a Nigeria, we are all countries that are seemingly frozen in technological time under the vice of black gold. I think we will be lucky if we ever see the hydrogen fuel cell or affordable electric car. I won't deny Ronald Reagan presidency accomplished a lot at the time however one must admit the fact that the long term ramifications of Reagan removing all of Jimmy Carter's attempts toward releasing America from the ball and chain that is foreign oil including his energy conservation and alternative fuels. He took off all the solar panels off the white house because I'm sure he didn't want have any new fangled contraptions that he didn't understand on the white house. So where do we go from here, when GM is still making Hummers and Americans are just now realizing SUV's may look "cool" but $100 for gas is not. I think if more Americans visited other countries they would realize we are the only people on the planet who drives SUV besides the poor countries we sell them too. SUV's the embodiment of most of America's problems in the form of a car. How do you teach a whole nation to understand what global perspective is in a matter of years before it self destructs?
