Happiness

Its a known fact that Republicans believe in free market and limited government. A lot of good that has done us considering America's current state. The most glaring evidence against limited government is the happiest country in the world for last two years, Denmark. The idea that a forum of government in which the maximum amount of profit is generated will lead to prosperity and happiness for the nation has been debunked by our very own economic downturn and incessant lack of financial stability. Meanwhile, Denmark, a nation that often seems to fall into the underbelly of global publicity, due there uncanny ability to avoid unnecessary conflict, has population of happy people whose search for happiness does not lie in the monetary but instead begins and ends in family and the social aspects of life. The happiness nation in the world despite taxing its people income in ranges close to 50%. We have been conditioned into believing money equals happiness is true equation, all this despite the egregious examples of money not equal happiness, whether it be Lindsay Lohan, Owen Wilson, Britney Spears, Paula Abdul, Amy Winehouse, Steven, Tyler, Eva Mendes, or Kirsten Dunst take your pick. The question becomes if real life publicized examples don't deter the majority of people from seeking happiness in the materialistic things then is their any hope for America to one day be the happiest nation in the world?

Top 5 Reasons Those In Charge Don't Care About Us

1. American Car Manufacturer

How can I put this lightly? America makes cars that are designed to be replaced by new models. In the car companies greed they have overlooked the lucrative possibilities of being a global automobile supplier such as Honda, Toyota, BMW, or Volkswagen. Thus due to foolish investments in ridiculous concepts like SUVs companies like Ford have been forced to close hundreds of factories due to losses in income. The bigger problem is found in the cities such Detroit whose economies are built on those factories. Had even the slightest thought been put into future ramifications of not making cars that appeal to foreign markets it would have become obvious that for an American economy which has relied on the automobile manufacturers such as GM and Ford for stability it would be highly detrimental for American cars to no longer appeal to their target and only market which is the American population.

2. Minimum Wage

Hmmm... Where do i even start? How about the fact that minimum wage hasn't been raised since 1996. When inflation is running rampant food and gasoline prices are out of control and millions of American families are struggling to keep their homes, the simple little thing big gov't could to actually provide relief to those under the heavy burden of our declining economy seems to never even cross mind. Then again, what do you expect? Its hard for big gov't sitting on its per ch on high to hear the masses agonizing cry.

3. Sad Sad World News

Okay I am aware the television is all about ratings. Is it absolutely necessary for every channel's news program to subscribe to this worlds a horrible place theme? Does every high speed chase need to be televised. I mean I think I saw this episode last week and I know how it ends. I believe that televising images of missing people or suspects doesn't help to lead to their return or capture . Sometimes, though, the media makes local issues national issues, like 17 pregnant girls in Boston ot the whole Jenna 6 debacle. In effect, subjecting one area to national judgment, and everybody's varying opinions which rarely leads to an actual solution, just a lot of discussion. Things like the constant reporting of shark attacks, making them out to be man eating monsters. Ideas suggesting vaccines cause autism. How about telling us how much gas is going up every day as if we didn't see it on the news we wouldn't be able to contemplate what was happening. How about SARS, West Nile Virus, Bird Flu, or whatever the perverbial pathogen flavor of the month is? Must the racial slur of every semi-famous person become national news. Especially when it comes to radio personalities, if i don't listen to the radio station why would care what they hell they said to their audience, and even I did listen to said station if i heard some thing i didn't like I would ummm..... CHANGE THE STATION!!!! And this is only the tip of the iceberg but i am going to stop here.

Top 5 Reasons Those In Charge Don't Care About Us

4. Daytime construction

Is it an absolute necessary for the majority of street construction to take place during the morning rush hour? I mean there is obvious logic in doing construction at night when their is less traffic and I imagine it would be safer for the workers. In terms of visibility and the protection of workers at night they can set lights in a way that illuminate the construction site so that is impossible for coherent driver not to see. With road rage occurring at absurd rates you would think that the number one priority would be reducing the stress level of drivers. Unstressed drivers equals less road rage, better driving, and as a result less stressed workers and more efficient work being done for employers.

5. Unnecessary Traffic Jams

Have you ever felt like if they just adjusted the time that a green or red light lasted that it would completely expedite the flow of traffic? I am sure that the grid of traffic lights could be reformatted with a little effort increasing the speed at which commuting takes place.
